Would you wear Volcom or Hurley?
What will i get
I ve had my female adult ball python for about 2 1/2months and she s shed twice- but now she hasn t shed for a month... is she ok?
I think she s about 2 1/2 years old and 3ft long.
I just got a ball python (about a month ago).
It s 5 years old & almost 5 feet (about 2 inches shy of 5 ft).
Do you think it will grow a few more inches?
Sorry- I don t know if it s male or female.
Thanks
We have a Jungle Carpet python- who has infra red sensors. I am always fascinated about what he can see.
has anyone heard anything about if they took action on baning boas and pythons in the US?
so people can still breed and sell them in the US?
My ball python s skin is streched out... is this normal? Am I giving her rats that are too big? Should I get smaller rats???
PLEASE Help!!!
I recently purchased a ball python- and am mildly concerned that he s developing a respiratory infection. He s been making a sharp wheezing noise occasionally- almost like a snore- yawning- and looking toward to top of his cage for no reason that I can tell. There s no mucus in his mouth from what I can see- nor around his nostrils. His tank is around 92 F on the warm side- 80-85 F on the cool side- with ambient air humidity of about 50%. He has shown no interest in food for a week- but this appears to be his normal eating cycle according to his records.
Ordinarily- I d take him to the vet immediately- but my current finances don t allow for this. Is there anything I can do for him in the meantime?
I have a ball python and he is now at that size where it is time to begin to feed him rats. The problem is my ball refuses to eat frozen/thawed food. I am aware of the fact that rats can pose a serious threat to my snakes health and want to avoid this. I have heard of "dazing" the prey and was curious as to how if any of you go about that process. I ve heard of spinning it in one of the gerbil exercise balls for a minute or so. Does anyone use this technique? Does anyone use any other technique? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
My brother gave me a ball python- Jeff- just a few weeks ago- so i m pretty much an amateur snake-haver. Its about 2 ft long. but he hasnt pooped once since ive had him! (basically he s still got at least 4 meals in him) i dont want to keep feeding him if he s constipated or something... is this something to worry about?
Gotta go to Petco- to pick up some mice to feed these pythons!
Is there a Grain & feed store around?
Gotta buy some hay to feed these calves!
Call up George Bush- let him know I ve got the weapons of mass destruction right here.
Got a frying pan? To put these yolks in???
Got tickets? To the Gun Show!!!
Police officer stopped me on the street with his pistol drawn- I asked him what the reason was for the stop. He approached and pulled at my sleeve and said- "Son- you got permits for those guns?"
And for the ladies...
Hey you thirsty? Cuz I ve got a Six-pack right here.
and what dangers can they impose?
sorry- a python*
my snake is 22 yrs old now & also has cronic stomach rot. I ve gotten him to pass the stones 2wce before by soaking. Only now it s not working. He s in pain- should I have him put down. I ve had him for 21 years - please is their some other remedy. Maybe dissolve the stones- prevent them- causes? Mjneral oil? Please help. Thank you so much .
MediaWiki offers it- but I want something easy to deploy at home (single server- pHp or Python- Apache- MySQL). Open source solutions are preferred.
strange. Because he has normally eaten every time i feed him but all of a sudden he stoped. Also he just visted the vet about a month ago and they said he s i perfect health.... so what goin on
:( :( :(!!!!!!!!!!!! My gerbil JUST died! and I am REALLY sad... his name was Monty and his friend is Python. They lived together (they were both boys) and we the SWEETEST gerbils I have ever met. They NEVER bit me. Now that Monty is gone Python is soooo sad and lonely!!!! What should I do???? They were soo close and I don t want to replace him- but Python needs a friend or he gets sad and lonely since I can t always be with him. HELP!
He died of old age- I adopted him from Petsmart- but someone gave him away because they didn t want him anymore... then I adopted him!
Please only answer this if you ve seen the movie (ie know what you are talking about!)
When it was released in the late 1970 s The Life of Brian caused controvosey and was boycotted by many religious groups and condemned as Blasphemous.
I accept the movie parodies religion- and some elements of the story of Jesus but Blasphemy is the denial of God- right? In the movie Jesus is actually portrayed as a real person and gives a sermon direct from the Bible. At no point does the movie deny God exists.
Is this film blasphemous or just a bit of fun?
Any Christians here seen it and enjoyed it or was it offensive?
Gary - Thanks for answer but you have misunderstood my question. Yes- the film is about Brian . The film title gave it away for me. But Jesus IS potrayed in the film. He is played by Kenneth Colley and delivers his sermon ("blessed are the meek" etc) whilst Brian watches from afar. This means the film actually portrays the Biblical Jesus accurately and so is surely no Blasphemous?
Did you think I was inferring that the story of Brian is an accurate portrayal of the story of Jesus? Other than they were both born in the same place and died on a cross It certainly is not.
Thank you for all your help!
Cruel?
Necessary?
I feed my python live since it does not accept pre-killed mice.
I see a lot of comments on youtube saying "How could you do that to a cute fuzzy mouse"
And
"I hope your ugly snake dies"
or
"I hope your snanke kills you"
The first is saying that you only like the mouse simply because it is cute?
Second- you don;t care if the snake dies- but you do if the mouse does?
Third- they imply I am a sadist necrophiliac.
I like snakes- not the death fo their food.
"However- I must add- you mentioned that you received comments on YouTube...why would you post a video of your snake killing a mouse? Most people know that mice have to die to feed snakes- but there really is no reason to videotape it and broadcast it on the internet. Doing so makes it seem like you in fact DO like the death of their food. I m not implying that you do- but it certainly does look like that."
If snakes constricted carrots- I would still post the video.
Many of us enjoy the way snakes eat- it s the best part.
The constriction- the immense opening of their jaws to accomedate a meal twice the size of their heads is amazing to watch.
I have two snakes that eat frozen/thawed.
I have tried to get my python to eat that to no avail.
My brother just got a parrot that was 1100 pesos (110 dollars approx.) and i asked my dad if i could get a snake and he said no- but i have no idea why.
its my birthday today =(

Ok i m 13 and I really want a ball python. My mom is considering it- but her main concern is care- and the snakes activity. She also is concerned about the snake living up to the reputation that most pythons have of killing small animals. (she has 2 cats) But I think if i find a good cage- and if i keep it in my room i could definantly keep it from the other animals. But I really think I could take care of a snake like this- but I really do not want something that will get really hard to take care of- so will you please tell me how hard it is to take care of one?
I still LOVE
"Dennis- There s some lovely filth down here"
Shouldn t we all be worshipping Brian right now?
I have owned my first ball python for only a month now- but towards the end of July- I m looking to add another reptile to my budding hobby. I have a relatively large encyclopedia on nearly all reptiles kept as pets- and I m interested in the following: Emerald Tree Boa- Green Tree Python- Leucistic Texas Rat Snake- Black Pine Snake- Bearded Dragon- Green (Chinese/Asian) Water Dragon- Knight Anole- Flap-necked/Graceful Chameleon- or a Red-eyed Tree Frog. I intend to train myself with reptiles so I will be experienced enough to raise and care for a Green Iguana or its Rhinoceros cousin. I am a resident of Northern Virginia and think I am capable of housing all the above creatures (not at once- of course.) I prefer carnivorous creatures- but am not really that picky- I suppose. For those answering with experience- please tell me the ups and downs of the species. I fancy leucistic reptiles- but- again- Not that picky.
Um... looked up price on Leucistic Ball Python... 15-000 USD- yikes. If you know of any relatively inexpensive leucistic- that would be cool- but the prospect and affordability looks quite unlikely for my 8$/hr.
Alright- I think I know what I want- but I don t know exactly what type of creature I want. I want a brightly colored- arboreal reptile that is easily tamed and handled. I want the sociable nature of the bearded dragon with brilliant greens- whites or similar color(s) that likes to climb in a rainforest/tropic/semitropic enclosure. If you know a species that fits this description- please let me know. My experience with my ball python has been great.
It s only around 45 right now- he s a ball python.
Help?

Some of you seem a bit depressed. Thought I d cheer you up with a bit of Monty Python.
my best friend s family is taking a trip to S. America this summer to see the rainforrests and said if my family pays for my plane ticket I can go with her. But her big brother is telling us to watch out for anacondas and pythons b/c they will eat us whole. I saw a movie where it happend but I know that was just a movie and besides it was so fake and couldn t we just run from them anyway? We actually will be doing a lot of backpacking and camping so yeah- I am a little worried. Her parents are botanists so we will be spending almost the whole time "in the field" as they put it. If it matters I am kind of small- 5 feet tall and 89 pounds

ok wow...I was kind of expecting a lot of "no way" answers and am shocked that there are such snakes. I also am surprised that we couldn t just outrun one. My friend and I are Girl Scouts and thought we could do some "research" on our own stomping around out there also to do a project for school
Which is a better first Snake? why?
I just got my first snake ( a ball python) Betsi and i was wandering what should i do in order to make it happy and so that i can have a good growth and over all happy snake.
i got a ball python about a little over a month ago i guess and he still hasnt pooped. i feed him once a week with a fuzzy and he always takes it. is their something wrong with him?
Our neighbors have lost their sons 7&1/2 ft. Python.
The neighborâ™s didnâ™t tell us for a week and now they are acting like itâ™s no big deal. They said it cannot kill or eat anything bigger than a rat... BULL SPIT!
We are in the county so animal control can do nothing.
We have 2 small dogs and a cat that we have closed off the doggy door (keeping dogs in and safe and keeping snake out)
And are not allowing them to go out without us for protection from this snake.
Our dogs want to play in their own yard!
Are there any deterrents to keep this snake out of our yard and keep our animals safe?
We have checked into snake deterrents for snakes native to our area- but a Python snake is not a native to this country
(Not sure if this stuff will work on a python) and I donâ™t think I ll feel safe until it is found.
What can be done?
Which is on demand at present? Java or Python.
it seems every time we go outside the next day or so my albino bermes pythons have mites. I treat them with Reptile Relief which i can tell they don t like. I also clean there cages top to bottom with bleach & water solution & then rinse. I can spray the yard w/ insecticide but I am afraid of harming the reps.. Any ideas. Thanks
I ve owned my ball python for a month- and I purchased it from a pet store. I handle it every couple days and feed it every Tuesday. He stays in his "hide cave" all day (when the bask light is on) and comes out at night when the bask light is off and lays on top of the hide cave under the red heat lamp. Is there a reason he never basks in the warmth of the basking lamp? Is there a negative effect of this? Does this mean anything good or bad?
He started striking at me when I feed him- never actually bitting me- just scaring me away from his food- but today he started striking at everything after I feed him. he struck at the water dish- all the sides of his tank- and then finally ate the mouse. I feed him frozen mice so it s not like he was trying to catch it. He isn t shedding- and his eyes are not cloudy so I don t understand why he is acting like this. Does anyone have any advise?
ok- I can t figure out how to respond to comments so I ll just expand on my question. He isn t scary- and has never bitten me- he only strikes when I feed him (recently)- but never actually hits me. I was handleing him earlier today and he was fine. And now after he ate he is just sitting there and not striking at anything. And of course I warm his food properly before I feed him. I ve had him for 2 years and I had another ball python before (sadly I had to get rid of because I went to boot camp and couldn t take him)- and neither of them ever acted like this. I do appreciate your responses- and I will of course take him to the vet. I just want to be clear that he isn t aggressive at all when I m not feeding him. Do you know what could cause him to act this way over his food all of a sudden?
Again- I appreciate all your replies- and I will take him to a vet- first thing in the morning- but I don t think it s a vision problem. He is striking at me when I feed him- because that s the only time he does it and he stops when I walk away from his tank. Any other time he acts completly normal. And today when he started striking at everything- he turned away from the mouse and struck at the wall in the other direction. and when he finally ate the mouse he had no trouble finding it. I admit though that I am familiar with pythons- but I m not an expert by any means- so maybe I m wrong- but I really don t think it s a vision problem
Can anyone tell me how to reply so I don t have to keep expanding on my question? Well anyway- no I never dropped him. He still trusts me I think- because like I said; I had him out earlier today and he was fine with me. It s only when I feed him that he acts weird lately. The last 3 times I fed him he came out at me- until I walked away- but then today- after I walked away he stuck at everything else for a few min. and then he finally stopped and ate the mouse.
Is it possible that he was striking at his reflection?
There s still some left over skin near his nose and the eye s are still kinda cloudy. I tried putting him in warm water- but he swam right out. He doesn t seem to be attempting getting them off!
Help please?
we were heading to town and came across a turtle that was trying to scurry across a huge road and so we stopped traffic and put him in our truck- now I want to take care of him. I have an acre to put a home on but dont have a lot of info on taking care of turtles. We already have a ball python in her home and a teddybear hamster- a puppy and a few kids so it should fit right in. The turtle was found in nw houston area- so texan turtle. any info would be cool.
it has claws on it that are about a half in long at the longest- sharp- his head is about two inches by and inch or so- he is striped with green and brown stripes- his eyes have green stripes- he is wild o texas and I found him crossing a main road that has grass on either side but not too much water near it but he has a lot of green moss/algae on him.
At first he was calm and didn t really move- then he got hyper suddenly and started crawling over my hand and squeezing it really hard. Then he crawled across my glasses (which was funny) and he started hovering his head around and tried crawling on my sister s guitar.
He just molted a few days ago and isn t quite done (I got him at the pet store when he was in the midst of it) so should I attempt a warm bath and leave him be? His eyes are still kinda cloudy.
Otherwise he s fine- a little dry skin but he seems ok- his tongue s in and out constantly.
Help please!!!!
I just bought a ball python and I m pretty into the reptile thing now. I deicided to get a bearded dragon next (in a seperate tank from the python mind you) and would like a good site with information about them- it d be really helpful. =]
Thanks very much! =]

Would there be more women programmers if there were more women-friendly programming languages?
I think languages like Lua and Perl are a lot more woman-friendly than languages like Java and especially Python (that s about the most male programming language of them all- I think- with the possible exception of BASIC.)
I think C is more about the computer- and the programmer can go take a flying one .....
I got him about an hour ago and he ate yesterday at the pet store (Friday). When should I try and feed him again?
His head also looks dry- but he was shedding yesterday- is it due to the shedding?
And the tank temperature is around 80- I have the heating pad under the tank and a nocturnal lamp- but the temp doesn t seem to increase. Is 80 an ok temp?
I would REALLY appreciate help!!!
Thanks. =]
I know they love water- but he never gets out unless i take him out to cruze in the yard
