I was keeping the humidity up (it was around 50%) I have a screen top cage (that is what I have to stay with for now)- I had wet paper towels cover about 65-75% of the top to help keep moisture in. He had a water dish big enough to soak in on the warm side of his tank (he never soaked at all). I do have a UTH- but I also have a light for a basking area. My substrate is fir chips (the reptile breeder I got him from said it was good to keep the humidity up because it retains moisture).

He shed in pieces and I had to soak him afterwards to get the rest of his shed off. The book said to watch the eye caps and the tip of his tail (both of which shed fine) but there were still patches on the rest of him that were flaking off.

I know a front opening tank with no screen top would be best but I really can t get that right now. Besides that what would help in the future?
I feel like I should have "called out" Melissa B too...
I ve actually heard that soaking them before they shed can actually LEAD to a shedding problem.
That last add on sounded confrontational - it wasn t supposed to be. I saw that on another question about shedding and I m just trying to suss out the right info.

I appreciate any and all help!
Should I switch to eco earth?

The lower jaw is slightly red but not the whole jaw...just the little corner where they flick they re tounges out..its like a pinkish color..its been like that since i bought him last week...but im not sure if its normal..please look at your ball pythons lower jaw in the upper middle part by where the snake flicks his tounge out..is it pinkish?

We are just about to start out HSC exams- and are considering what we want to do after school. I have always planned to go into acting- after completing a communications degree. We are now looking at starting our own small business to keep bread on the table - sort of a side job. We want to set up a beauty/massage parlour- which also sells home-made jewellry- and does meditation sessions- and also want to start breeding and selling diamond pythons. We want to know what would be involved in setting up a business like this- and where and how we would get the money and financial support etc.

Even if i slightly mist the tank the humidity rockets up to 90%...
How can i make sure that my hygrometer is giving me the right reading?
what happens if the humidity is too high?what will happen to my BP?

I held it like 4 times at the store but now im scared to pick it up.Im scared it will bite me or strike.Every time I try to pick it up it always moves or kind of jumps-and I always pet it first so it knows Im there.HOW CAN I OVERCOME THIS FEAR!!??

Can some 1 help me become a game tester or a software tester or anything like that??? I am 14 but I am fluent in Html- Python- Perl- Lisp- Java- C- and C++ learned in that order! I already test and help microsoft and mozilla and limewire and other companys test beta and open source- but i wish to earn cash doing it!!! Please help me???

If I bred two het axanthic ball pythons togther would I get 25% chance of getting a axanthic and the rest 66% het axanthic or would the rest be 100% het axanthic?
Thanks

And the same question for two het for albino s?

So I ve had a ball python for a little while now- I made his hide boxes myself from scratch using tape and cardboard. (it made the tank feel more appealing to the eye). So now time has come around and after seeing some flaws with cardboard and tape I want to use clay hideboxes. the problem is that i only found two types- ovendry and airdry. the ovendry stated that it contained silica...or something. simply put it had the potential to release cancer causing fumes.... so i got child safe airdry clay.... do anyone think that this clay may have any effects on my pet. it has no warnings on it and if its for small children then im assuming they expect some to be swallowed so it wont be toxic....
I would just like some feedback from people that may know clay and if it can hurt my snake.

they clay type is "prang molding clay"

this really seems kinda like an artsy question but none the less.

where can i find 1 for $100 or less

OK I want to know from experienced owners only what of the following snakes is the best.

Rat snake
Bull Snake(gopher snake)
Mexican Black Kingsnake
Corn Snake
Milk Snake

Also if you have chose rat snake please explain what sub-breed it is. I ONLY want experinced answers. If you have another breed of snake that you think is good please tell me. BUT I do not want a python or boa. Also if you recomend another type of snake please make sure it does not get bigger that 3 inches around and no more that 6 feet long.

Ok wich ever snake you chose please write at least a small description about why you chose that snake. Thanks.

I will be chosing a best answer.

Oh and I am an experienced owner.

will the 2 snakes start trying to make baby or no?

Can not chose so majority wins.I already have a corn and is great and my first snake was a ball python and it die a few days after I brought it home.So I am kind of reluctant to try ball pythons again what should I chose
I have a corn already so I am not that inexprienced

I brought a royal python the other day- it was meant to be a granite royal python but it doesn t look like one- it s belly has a yellow tint to it- and his sides are yellowish and he has a streak of yellow by his eye. Could it be a yellow belly royal or not?
Here are some pictures- but the camera doesn t show the pictures well and the flash made the yellow- i dont t know if the pics will work!!!!!!!

I live in the desert and now that it s summer- the house is heating up. Hubby and I have lived in the heat our whole lives so we keep it up around 86-87 (when it s 115 outside- that s not as bad as it sounds). We really don t want to raise the whole house temperature- but we are concerned about the ball python. His cool side is right at 87 and he s nearly always on that side- so I think he may be a little warm. He is otherwise eating perfectly fine- shedding fully- active; he actually looks and acts great. We have a hide log and a bathing water dish on both sides of the tank so it s not the accessories that keeps him on one side. He has an under tank heater on the hot side which I found he much preferred during the winter- and the cats can t knock it off. All the python care sheets show that his cool side shouldnt be over 82- so I m concerned of the long term of effects of him not being able to cool that low. Any suggestions from python breeders/keepers would be great. Thanks!

Put these into 2 groups and explain why they re seperated in those 2 groups.

a)brown snake- sea snake- turtle- tree snake- lizard- python- iguana
b) surfboard- sailboard- canoe- skateboard- dinghy- surf ski- catamaran

I already own a King Cobra but im thinking of getting a second one. Please give me your advice.Thanks.

These are ones I came up with:
-Panther Alley
-Chrome Thunder
-Venom Force
-Python Seduction

Which one(s) do you like?
Can you think of some more?

I need help on finding the right snake-I ve read about bps and corn snakes i need to know which would fit these standards.
1) Easily Tamed- generally docile.
2) Good with new people around.
3) Can cope with another snake around.
4) Enthusiastic feeder- wont have to worry about feeding habits.
5) Which requires less maintenance.
6) Which is more placid and laid back.
After you read the requirements please tell me which snake would best fit my needs?

I recently went and saw the Broadway Musical Monty Python s Spamalot and it was absolutely hilarious. Now I want to relive that experience- by finding a way to see it again and again. If you have any information about this please let me know.

I need to reconnect a wire running to my aftermarket alarm s computer so that it won t have the power to cut the ignition. I m more than proficient with soldering so reconnection won t be a problem.
However- I don t really feel up to figuring out which wire is which (huge bundle of wires) Does anyone know if the ignition wire is a specific color/scheme? (I.e.- positive = red wire- negative = black wire- ignition = ??)

Thanks

Also- the alarm is a Python 1400xp something or other if that helps any.
I probably should have been more clear: the alarm will prevent the starter from receiving power/engaging- it DOESN T kill the car while it s running.
Here are some pictures:

I DO NOT want a python or Boa. I would like to know all good snakes that stay skinny(not big around) and no more that 6 feet in length. Please recomend all snakes you know of that are good and why they are good. Thank you!!!!!!

I m about to buy a Python 357 Magnum Spring powered airsoft revolver- and I have the options of 4"- 6"- or 8". I thought that the longer the barrel- the greater the accuracy. I know that s true with a real gun- but does it really matter with an airsoft gun?

I want to play Triple Triad on my Slim PSP but when i try to play it it gives the 80020148 error- i changed the umd to 1.50 kernel and no luck.

- I have the game placed in the 1.50 folder
- The Python folder is in _MSROOT

We got a Ball Python today and was playing with her....well she went in the couch....now we are having no luck in finding her. Will she come out in the night? Is she sleeping now since it is warm in the couch? Will she be okay in the couch till we can find her? Please answer ASAP.
P.S. I read up on them before and today. But they didn t say nothing about one getting lost in the couch. No rude comments. I am just 15 and feel guilty. So please help me find Maddy!
Thanks everyone! I found Maddy! She is okay and I just thought I d let everyone know that I found her!
