I was keeping the humidity up (it was around 50%) I have a screen top cage (that is what I have to stay with for now)- I had wet paper towels cover about 65-75% of the top to help keep moisture in. He had a water dish big enough to soak in on the warm side of his tank (he never soaked at all). I do have a UTH- but I also have a light for a basking area. My substrate is fir chips (the reptile breeder I got him from said it was good to keep the humidity up because it retains moisture).

He shed in pieces and I had to soak him afterwards to get the rest of his shed off. The book said to watch the eye caps and the tip of his tail (both of which shed fine) but there were still patches on the rest of him that were flaking off.

I know a front opening tank with no screen top would be best but I really can t get that right now. Besides that what would help in the future?
I feel like I should have "called out" Melissa B too...
I ve actually heard that soaking them before they shed can actually LEAD to a shedding problem.
That last add on sounded confrontational - it wasn t supposed to be. I saw that on another question about shedding and I m just trying to suss out the right info.

I appreciate any and all help!
Should I switch to eco earth?

The lower jaw is slightly red but not the whole jaw...just the little corner where they flick they re tounges out..its like a pinkish color..its been like that since i bought him last week...but im not sure if its normal..please look at your ball pythons lower jaw in the upper middle part by where the snake flicks his tounge out..is it pinkish?

We are just about to start out HSC exams- and are considering what we want to do after school. I have always planned to go into acting- after completing a communications degree. We are now looking at starting our own small business to keep bread on the table - sort of a side job. We want to set up a beauty/massage parlour- which also sells home-made jewellry- and does meditation sessions- and also want to start breeding and selling diamond pythons. We want to know what would be involved in setting up a business like this- and where and how we would get the money and financial support etc.

Even if i slightly mist the tank the humidity rockets up to 90%...
How can i make sure that my hygrometer is giving me the right reading?
what happens if the humidity is too high?what will happen to my BP?

I held it like 4 times at the store but now im scared to pick it up.Im scared it will bite me or strike.Every time I try to pick it up it always moves or kind of jumps-and I always pet it first so it knows Im there.HOW CAN I OVERCOME THIS FEAR!!??

Can some 1 help me become a game tester or a software tester or anything like that??? I am 14 but I am fluent in Html- Python- Perl- Lisp- Java- C- and C++ learned in that order! I already test and help microsoft and mozilla and limewire and other companys test beta and open source- but i wish to earn cash doing it!!! Please help me???

If I bred two het axanthic ball pythons togther would I get 25% chance of getting a axanthic and the rest 66% het axanthic or would the rest be 100% het axanthic?
Thanks

And the same question for two het for albino s?

So I ve had a ball python for a little while now- I made his hide boxes myself from scratch using tape and cardboard. (it made the tank feel more appealing to the eye). So now time has come around and after seeing some flaws with cardboard and tape I want to use clay hideboxes. the problem is that i only found two types- ovendry and airdry. the ovendry stated that it contained silica...or something. simply put it had the potential to release cancer causing fumes.... so i got child safe airdry clay.... do anyone think that this clay may have any effects on my pet. it has no warnings on it and if its for small children then im assuming they expect some to be swallowed so it wont be toxic....
I would just like some feedback from people that may know clay and if it can hurt my snake.

they clay type is "prang molding clay"

this really seems kinda like an artsy question but none the less.

where can i find 1 for $100 or less

OK I want to know from experienced owners only what of the following snakes is the best.

Rat snake
Bull Snake(gopher snake)
Mexican Black Kingsnake
Corn Snake
Milk Snake

Also if you have chose rat snake please explain what sub-breed it is. I ONLY want experinced answers. If you have another breed of snake that you think is good please tell me. BUT I do not want a python or boa. Also if you recomend another type of snake please make sure it does not get bigger that 3 inches around and no more that 6 feet long.

Ok wich ever snake you chose please write at least a small description about why you chose that snake. Thanks.

I will be chosing a best answer.

Oh and I am an experienced owner.

will the 2 snakes start trying to make baby or no?

Can not chose so majority wins.I already have a corn and is great and my first snake was a ball python and it die a few days after I brought it home.So I am kind of reluctant to try ball pythons again what should I chose
I have a corn already so I am not that inexprienced

I brought a royal python the other day- it was meant to be a granite royal python but it doesn t look like one- it s belly has a yellow tint to it- and his sides are yellowish and he has a streak of yellow by his eye. Could it be a yellow belly royal or not?
Here are some pictures- but the camera doesn t show the pictures well and the flash made the yellow- i dont t know if the pics will work!!!!!!!

I live in the desert and now that it s summer- the house is heating up. Hubby and I have lived in the heat our whole lives so we keep it up around 86-87 (when it s 115 outside- that s not as bad as it sounds). We really don t want to raise the whole house temperature- but we are concerned about the ball python. His cool side is right at 87 and he s nearly always on that side- so I think he may be a little warm. He is otherwise eating perfectly fine- shedding fully- active; he actually looks and acts great. We have a hide log and a bathing water dish on both sides of the tank so it s not the accessories that keeps him on one side. He has an under tank heater on the hot side which I found he much preferred during the winter- and the cats can t knock it off. All the python care sheets show that his cool side shouldnt be over 82- so I m concerned of the long term of effects of him not being able to cool that low. Any suggestions from python breeders/keepers would be great. Thanks!

Put these into 2 groups and explain why they re seperated in those 2 groups.

a)brown snake- sea snake- turtle- tree snake- lizard- python- iguana
b) surfboard- sailboard- canoe- skateboard- dinghy- surf ski- catamaran

I already own a King Cobra but im thinking of getting a second one. Please give me your advice.Thanks.

These are ones I came up with:
-Panther Alley
-Chrome Thunder
-Venom Force
-Python Seduction

Which one(s) do you like?
Can you think of some more?

I need help on finding the right snake-I ve read about bps and corn snakes i need to know which would fit these standards.
1) Easily Tamed- generally docile.
2) Good with new people around.
3) Can cope with another snake around.
4) Enthusiastic feeder- wont have to worry about feeding habits.
5) Which requires less maintenance.
6) Which is more placid and laid back.
After you read the requirements please tell me which snake would best fit my needs?

I recently went and saw the Broadway Musical Monty Python s Spamalot and it was absolutely hilarious. Now I want to relive that experience- by finding a way to see it again and again. If you have any information about this please let me know.

I need to reconnect a wire running to my aftermarket alarm s computer so that it won t have the power to cut the ignition. I m more than proficient with soldering so reconnection won t be a problem.
However- I don t really feel up to figuring out which wire is which (huge bundle of wires) Does anyone know if the ignition wire is a specific color/scheme? (I.e.- positive = red wire- negative = black wire- ignition = ??)

Thanks

Also- the alarm is a Python 1400xp something or other if that helps any.
I probably should have been more clear: the alarm will prevent the starter from receiving power/engaging- it DOESN T kill the car while it s running.
Here are some pictures:

I DO NOT want a python or Boa. I would like to know all good snakes that stay skinny(not big around) and no more that 6 feet in length. Please recomend all snakes you know of that are good and why they are good. Thank you!!!!!!

I m about to buy a Python 357 Magnum Spring powered airsoft revolver- and I have the options of 4"- 6"- or 8". I thought that the longer the barrel- the greater the accuracy. I know that s true with a real gun- but does it really matter with an airsoft gun?

I want to play Triple Triad on my Slim PSP but when i try to play it it gives the 80020148 error- i changed the umd to 1.50 kernel and no luck.

- I have the game placed in the 1.50 folder
- The Python folder is in _MSROOT

We got a Ball Python today and was playing with her....well she went in the couch....now we are having no luck in finding her. Will she come out in the night? Is she sleeping now since it is warm in the couch? Will she be okay in the couch till we can find her? Please answer ASAP.
P.S. I read up on them before and today. But they didn t say nothing about one getting lost in the couch. No rude comments. I am just 15 and feel guilty. So please help me find Maddy!
Thanks everyone! I found Maddy! She is okay and I just thought I d let everyone know that I found her!

What d you prefer:
Superior control- power- and micro-level control offered by Assembly?
Or the convenience- flexibility and popularity of Python?

I ve got 150 hours to learn one of those two and I can t decide whether I prefer power or convenience. The project I have to give in the end is a program that could change the world ... Which language is more suited for that?
I mean in general.

i saw on tv this snake- same size and shape as a full grown ball python (though it could have been a baby- who knows- but there were a pile of snakes on the episode- one being an adult ball python- so i can judge shape easily) but it had markings on it that looked almost exactly like a giraffe. does anyone know what it is? it was so beautiful
i think it was real. the ball python was definatly alive- and in the episode- the snake was moving like an alive snake should
yeah chris! it looks like burmese!! but darn it- i can t get one... they eat ppl!!!

She will completely submerge her head in the water and drink and then when she comes up she will hack it all up. She has mucas around her mouth and has been making wheezing and clicking noises. I now suspect that she already had this when we bought her because she has always made the clicking sounds and keeps her mouth open.

Question:
do you name them by the meaning of the names or names that fits your interest? LOL XD

(ps: i naming my kids:

Sons:
1. Boa Psalms Santos
(constrictor Praises Saints or Constrictor Song of God Saints)
[i can t find the meaning of boa)
{to me it means all together my son is a Worship Leader}
(as in constrictor + Psalm= Trapped in Gods song - Saints= Follower of Christ. = Worship Leader)

2. Python Exodus Santos
(long departure saints= leading large multitudes)

3.Chad Boris Santos
(battle wolf saints)
(don t give up
Daughters:

1. Komodo Proverbs Santos

(Island proverbs saints= preacher?)

2. Barbados Babatunde Santos

(Barbados means bearded-ones- babatunde means father has returned. so all together it means one who waits for God. or in other words Hairy Daughter who waits for God XD)

3.Latoya Ekenedilichukwu Santos

(Latoya means 2 things: African for Praised women- Spanish for Victorious. EKENEDILICHUKWU means all praises to God. so all together. Set Free Hard Core Worship Leader
i don t know the defintion to Phyton and Boa- so i picked the ones the fits it:

Boa (Constrictor)

Python (Large Snake)

lol those are my favorites snakes. :)

so i m most likley keeping these names.. i picked and thought hard on it. :)

i want my childrens names to have a meaning in one sentance. :)

Praise GOD. :)

God get s all the Glory> :)

I have a 6mth Coastal Python and it seems to spend alot of time just soaking in water. My husband had to change the size of the water dish because he was trying to forse him self into the smaller dish and now that he has given him a bigger dish he seems to soak in it quite offten ? Also we are about to put him into his bigger enclouser as a snake breeder told us to keep him in a medium sized plastic tub for the first six months - just wanted to know what the temp should be in a enclouser that would be 6ft high 3.5 ft wide and 2 ft deep and is there anything speacile that they need in there apart from the light and heat lights any idea????? Thanks

My daughter got a ball python (baby) for her birthday the 10th of June. 10 days later it is dead. She offered the snake pinkies and it wouldn t take them so we offered it a live baby mouse and it took it. 2 days later- the snake s body above where the mouse is went completely concave! She died about 2 hours after we noticed and rushed her to the vet. They said it was probably too late to do anything so she just died. What could it have been?? We took good care of her with the right heating and lighting and water and a hiding spot. I can t find anything on the web about this. Please help us understand. Thanks

I want to breed my 2 snakes and i don t know what to sell the babies for?

Kaitlyn: I didn t- but I do now. After it took me an hour to type up- I m going to keep it handy...

I want to breed my 2 snakes and i don t know what to sell the babies for?

I have thousands of CDs/vinyls- but so you can get an idea of my taste in music (and so I don t get a long list of bands I already have)- here are some of the artists that I have on my computer. Like I said- I have a lot of music so please try to be as obscure as possible with your suggestions. Thank you!

Kaitlyn: I didn t- but I do now. After it took me an hour to type up- I m going to keep it handy...

I ve done some research- and am thinking of getting one... How much would it cost? The snake itself- the tank- the hiding spots- water dish- pre killed mice- etc. Thank you for answering! =P

After a lot of research i ve found that bengal tigers are stronger then siberian tigers- and on average about 100 lbs heavier. Average male siberian tigers are around 167-188kg on average compared to average male bengal tigers at 240kg. Bengal tigers are also far fiercer.
Statistics:
Claw length: 2-4 inches
Canine Length: longest canines of all land animals at 4 inches
Bite force: 4000 -6000 pounds per square inch
Paw strength: Can kill a wolf and disable a 272kg sambar with one swipe
Aggression level: High to Extremely high; depends on range
Largest Prey taken:3 - 5 ton elephants
What do you think would win in a fight given this information.
Tiger vs Striped Hyena
Tiger vs Asiatic Lion
Tiger vs Indian Rhinoceros
Tiger vs Sumatran Rhinoceros
Tiger vs Asian Elephant
Tiger vs dhole
Tiger vs Indian Wolf
Tiger vs Saltwater crocodile
Tiger vs Mugger Crocodile
Tiger vs Eurasian Brown bear
Tiger vs Sloth bear
Tiger vs Python
*all fights do happen and take place on land*

do i do it everyday until he is done shedding?
Oh and how do i know when he is right about to shed the skin off?
how long is the process from when the eyes get milky blue to when he sheds the skin?
thank you guys sooooooomuch.

If so what is your opinion on them?

had a royal python for 5 weeks now & wont eat-
What can i do? Please help

why did my cb baby royal hiss and strike out at me he s been docile all day not too hot and left alone he s 6 weeks old when we got him out he was fine he layed there being gently stroked and he stuck out

I know it involves a graph and vertex class- but i need it to find the shortest path to one particular point.
Thanks

The last time my ball python feed was in the begining of april and it hasn t fed since- it has plenty of water hide spots heat and basking areas. I have tried everything feeding in a seperate container with a lid- feeding at nite- using frozen food items I running out of ideas. The weirdest thing though is that my snake shed in 1 complete piece and still wasn t hungry wat should I do.

there s still some on his upper back and he has an eye cap. i tried putting him a bath of lukewarm water last night. didn t seem to do much.
my other concern is that he ate a week before he started shedding so it s been three weeks since he ate. do you think i should wait until he s finished shedding to feed him?

I got my Ball Python from Florida ( from my finaces sister) and we brought him up home with us ( We live in New York). This was the last week in April. He/She hasnt eaten since we ve gotten it. We ve tried about 3 inch to 4 inch mouse. And even a little bigger or a little smaller. We are both new to having a snake- so i wasnt sure if what we were trying to feed was too small? He/She is about 2 1/2 feet long. We have 100 Watt red bullb for heating which i leave on for most of the day. He/She has pooped within the last week and also pooped before we brought it back from Florida. Right now i think its getting ready for a shedding because he/shes eyes are cloudy and the color is alot darker. The nearest Reptile vet is a 45 minute drive away and is very expensive- Im trying to avoid a vet visit at all cost. Any information would be greately appreciateld.

Thumbs down tinker.. STOP IT RIGHT NOW

She is 4 feet long and 2 years old I know she is probably hungry but i haven t made it out the the pet store yet. And will she suffer any ill effects.
i fed her about 3 weeks ago. but the rat was too small for her it was the biggest the store had.

my new python has been lying "uncurled" for a while and is worrying me. am i just being neurotic or is something wrong

my ball python lives in a 40 gallon tank- the hot side is perfect- but the cold needs to rise to 77-80 right now its at 72. i have an under tank heater for a ten gallon tank- should i use it to bring the temperature up?

little lisp-between 2 missing teeth-"Excuthe me-Mither-do you keep widdle wabbits?"

"Do you want a widdle white wabbit-or a thoft and fuwwy bwack wabbit or maybe one like that cute widdle bwon wabbit over there?"
She in turn-blushes-rocks on her heels-leans forward and says in a tiny quiet voice.

HUSBAND AND WIFE!!!
Why do couples hold hands during their wedding?
It s a formality just like two Boxers shaking hands before the big fight begins!!!!

Ok well i bought a baby ball i say 2-3 weeks ago and well so far its been behaving just like i kinda expected- but see when ever he is in his tank- he tends to lash out at you sometimes- even if you just walk by. but then he will be perfectly normal when he is out of the tank- um i really dont know what to do and i just want it to feel safe and secure.

I ve had my ball pythons for almost two months now..I have fed her a live pinky last friday like I always do from the same store. she usually stays still two days after she eats but then she s active the rest of the week...but not this time. I am trying to pick her up..she squeezes me so hard and she barely moves when I hold her. is it because its hot? (I live in southern california) she hasn t shed yet but shes doesn t seem she will be shedding anytime soon. could it be the pinky that she ate was bad???help please...

The alarm is some sort of Python 1400 or other. I ll start my car multiple times in a day- and then sometimes- the alarm will just decide to kill the ignition. I can still hear the fuel pump go- and the relay clicking and the lights dim.
I ve timed it (because it s happened so many #$%^%^&*@! times)- and I have to wait exactly 15 min before it will work again. If I try to start it before the time has elapsed- it will reset the timer.
How can I disable this God-forsaken feature or just plain disable the crappy alarm system altogether?
Also: I know about the valet switch and it is off. The little red light blinks when I arm the system and turns off when I unarm it.

I been trying to get started with programing- but i dont know where to start i took a look at C introduction and i got as fas as looking for compiler for ubuntu gutsy- and that`s about it- i was told to start with python. what sjout i do?

Is this normal..is he sick or is he trusting me?

I would like to know the positive and negitives about these types of snakes:
Cali King
Mexican Black King
Spotted Python
Blood Python
Rosy Boa
Kenyan Sand Boa
Corn Island Boa
Please only experienced answers! If you dont know all of them you can just do the ones you know. Also i would like to know the approxmate size of each of thses snakes- and wich one YOU personally think is best to own for a second time owner(previously owned garter snake and lots of experience with lizards) Thank You!

He s on 4 inch mice now- he s about a foot long.
He ll end up on rats- right?
Ok I m reporting you Kobe- that s sick.

i have:
wooden bark
3 "hides" 1 on hot side 1 on cool side 1 in the middle (cool and middle i made myself by finding piece f wood outside)
big water bawl
heating pad
NATURAL WOOD DEKOR I FOUND IN THE WOODS is it OK or ball python dont like alot of wood?

help??
NATURAL WOOD DEKOR I FOUND IN THE WOODS is it OK or ball python dont like alot of wood?
ofcourse- i forgot!!!

yes- i heated the wood in the oven and bugs exploded :o
and by heating pad- ofcourse i meant the under tank heater.

Is it normal for my ball python to let me touch his head..he doesnt even care if i slightly touh his head or jaw..he is totaly calm about it..but this morning i touched his head and he reacted..he was pissed in the morning when i would touch his head and he never let me touch his head till today...is he sick or do they calm down like that?

I recently got a ball python from a friend of mine who could no longer care for him. He is about 3 yrs old. I was around him several times before he became mine- and he was always very relaxed and loved to be handled. We brought him home Saturday. Didn t handle him at all Sunday. Fed him Monday (ate a medium rat just fine). 24 hrs later- we took him out and he was very nervous and skittish when held- but happy and relaxed exploring the floor. Another 24 hrs later- same thing. Very skittish. Tonight- I noticed his belly is pink which would say he was about to shed but he just did! In fact- he still has a small piece of skin on his head and eye caps. Could he be getting ready to shed again? Do we just need to leave him alone for several days to acclimate? I would blame the eye caps but- he had those the night I brought him home and was very calm even in the bumpy car. Any ideas as to why he is so skittish? Also tonight- instead of roaming around his cage as usual- he is in his hide.

I know that they dont soak unless they are sick..so what can be some sicknesses that cause soaking?

(At night when my ball python is exploring in his tank..he happens to come by the water bowl and leaves half of his boady in there for like a minute and moves on...hes done this 2 times the same night..it doesnt look like he does it intentionally but he just comes across the bowl and lets half his body sit there for like a minute..something to worry about?)

THANK YOU!

I just got my first ball python on saturday and he doesnt stop rubbing his nose on the glass..is it bad? how do i prevent it?
thank you

-Patrick

I remember him talking about such a measurement on TV as a kid. I m trying to see how I measure up today.
I measured mine -- it s only 18.5" -- I guess Hulk has a bigger python.

Wich one makes a better pet?

I am looking forward to buying a ball python as my first pet snake but i am finding it difficult to convince my mom in letting me get one. (she just does not like snakes) I have had many pets before and am a responsible 17 year old. Can anyone please give me a list on why my mother should let me buy this snake (I allready researched how to take care of it) all i need is a list of good facts about this snake. Your answers are greatly appreciated. Thank You

i have a ball python and its a little bigger tha 2 foot i feed it every friday what other day(s) should i feed it on by tthe way i feed it feeder mice

I want to learn to be a programmer and develop games someday. But unlike most hobbies- I can t seem to find a friend or mentor in this area. It seems like nobody wants to learn and make software together... unless their already experts and they don t have time for novices like myself.

I prefer C#- but willing to use java- python c or c++.

It s my understanding they re quite docile and make good pets in addition to being one of the smallest types of python.

How in comparison to- let s say a corn snake-- are they for pets?

Hi-

My ball has 2 hiding boxes - 1 on cool side and 1 on hot.

3 days ago i found really cool piece of wood and i "backed" it (to get rid of bactteria and bugs). And this wood has a bunch of hole in it and my ball is in one of them. I cant get him out- but he likes it there. I wanna play with him- but cant get him :D

will he get out by himself (because he can- just doesnt want to)???

i understand he feels very secure in it- but i need to feed him tomorrow and i dont know what to do.

btw he skipped last meal- but the temp and humidity are right.

I bought a ball python abt 3 days ago (sunday) and the pet store told me they feed it saturday (day b4 i bought it). Well since its a new pet in the family- should i do what others say abt not feeding for abt 2-3 weeks so that way it can b used to its new home? Other words- Should i feed my snake nxt week?

I was thinking about adding a new addition to my snake family (only 2 Ball Python s right now). I know that they are a bigger snake. I didn t want something as small as a Corn Snake- but I don t want any Burmese- either!

I have a friend who is building me a Beardie habitat for me- and he said that he doesn t mind doing another for a larger snake.

I ve been doing some researching- but I can t find any really good sites. All I know is that they get about 8-10 feet.

- How about their temperament?
- How large of an enclosure do I need to have my friend build for me?
- How fast do they grow? (I m having the snake grow with his enclosure- BTW - I m not just going to stick a 2 foot baby in that huge cage! Lol.)

Anything else would be awesome! Thanks- guys!

My snake is from another country- I live in UK. Where I got her from fed her live food and now she won t eat the pre-killed food that I give her. I could just go and buy a mouse from the pet shop but that is illegal in UK. That doesn t bother me- but I then have the trouble of getting another mouse as the petshop wont keep selling me a mouse every week

What can I do to get my python bang on the frozen mice?
Also- what is the best way to pick her up? I have held snakes before and don t have a problem handling them. But what is the best way to get her from the cage without stressing her out and having her defend herself. Do I do a Steve Irwin approach or what?
As I have said. I don t care about breaking the law- it s hassle getting live mice. Breeding mice to feed sounds like a load of hassle- more hassle than getting my snake to eat killed food. I don t want mice and I certainly don t want to breed them. Thanks anyway
Do people bother reading questions properly before answering them?

I DO NOT WANT TO BLOODY BREED MICE

I know the the Ball Python species is a thick- short- stouted breed of snake - and it s good if their "fatter".

So- how to I know when fat is *too* fat?

My male is about 2 and a half feet in length- and his thickest girth is about 6 - 6 and a half inches.

He eats/drinks well and according to the veterinarian - a very- very healthy Ball.

But- what is too obese?

like aligators crocodiles or anything that are good movies please names ones not on my list

lake placid
anaconda
anacondas

pythons

thanks

What color eyes do you have?
Do you have a pet?
What is your middle initial?

My answers are:
Green
I have a ball python
My middle initial is R.
Feel free to IM me. I m REALLY bored.
I want some stars- please? I promise I ll be good!

My Pythons head is strangely small for his length and body size. Comparing him to other snakes his size. (He s almost 2 feet) his head is still the size of the pad of my middle finger- and I have tiny hands)... I read somewhere it can happen if you overfeed but I can guarentee that s not the case with him. so what could other causes be?

what s a good Broadway musical you recommend?
I already listen to
-Avenue Q
-Hairspray
-Monty Python s Spamalot
-The Producers
-Rent
thank you :)

They have to rub their nose against something rough in the cage..does that hurt their nose and cause mouth rot?

I know he is not stargazing...i put him back in the tank and he just sits there looking straight..he is kind of rolled up but not in a ball...his head is looking straight...i got him on saturday and he is only 2 months old..he looks healthy and he ate the first day i got him but is it normal for a ball python to just "sit there"?

My ball python is about 8 months old and i am feeding her rats i think they are full grown not supper big but way biger then fuzzys what i was feeding her. Fuzzys seemed to small then i went one up wich was full grown rats at the pet store and they seem much more biger then fuzzys. I feed her now every other tuesday and she can eat them with no probloms. Am i doing this right or are they to large for her?

Hey im a 13 year old boy who s dream is to become a professional programmer :) So i decided to start learning Python but i need help to know how much time does it take to learn Python and what do i need and everything else about starting to learn Python and if it is easy or hard :D

Thinking about buying new pet snake(i have owned before) I want a mexican black kingsnake but i am having problems fiinding someone who is selling 1. So i am thinking about another breed i dont want constictors- or pythons- so does anyone have a good snake breed(i really want a king snake).
Please ONLY experienced answers no guessing.

well i wanted a ball python but i live in NYC and they are illegal in here
so im doing a lot of research about corn snakes
but now im more interested in king and milksnakes
i just came back from a petstore and i asked them a lot of question about the snakes

now im more into milk and king snakes

but im not quiet sure if what they told me is true
i asked them about heating for the snake they told me that in summer its not needed but i will need it in the winter

i have everythign that i need to keep it
i have the heat lamp and heat pad-substrate( reptile bark) -water bowl.some branches and vines

they carry only few types of milk and king snakes like :
"banana" king snake- albino california kingsnake-california kingsnake-Pueblan milksnake- Thayer s Kingsnake
for me everymilk snake looks the same

and the prices arent so high ( up to 100$ albino king snake cost 130$)

my question is can i keep 2 king or milksnakes in the same tank ?? or will they kill each other??

I have seven ball pythons that just won t eat! but my other snakes are still eating so I know it s not some kind of virus or something. any advice?

my housemate has just gotten a childrens python and is intending to feed it live animals because she can t be arsed killing them and nowhere in our area sells frozen. I am a BIG animal lover and have rats of my own- so I have naturally got a problem with this.
I said I d personally kill the live mice if it means they are killed humanely. So what is the most humane way to kill them; freezing or co2 suffocation from dry ice?
and I m NOT going to use a hammer or break its neck as I ve seen this go wrong on various animals countless times.
to will E Coyote: yes I know I m talking about killing it so it doesn t have to get fed live. what the other person was talking about is just silly- cruel and in no way natural.
I personally think people s arguments that live food is more "natural" is utter crap- as if they were truelly concerned with keeping to the laws of nature they would not be keeping such a wild and untamable animal in a glass cage for viewing anyways. I don t geddit.
My housemate has already gotten the snake- and the argument was that if I m allowed rats she should be allowed a snake.
as much as I d hate to do it I feel alot better about handelling the killing of the rodents myself if it s more humane. CO2 does sound like it s probably the best option.

thanks
saucy: thanks I didn t know that about freezing them. alot of people tend to think it is humane. I suppose they assume prepackaged frozen mice were killed that way.
and I ve seen plenty of reptiles kill live prey- including crocodiles eat bush turkeys as I live in the middle of a rainforest. it is just nature- but I am not going to condone the suffering of a living animal if it is in a situation where it could be killed humanely.

I have a baby ball python in a 60x45x45 terrarium- is this too big.

I thought it was illegal? What should I do to stop it- the poor puppies looked half dead and were shivering.
I also saw a ball python crammed in a foot long cage with a tiny water dish and that angered me too- because I have a ball python and I d hate if someone treated him like that.
And on top of that- they had baby bunnies/guinea pigs in an open cage where you could reach in and pet them and the poor things were huddled in a corner.
Is there anything I can do to get them at least out of the mall? It s terrible.

what are there uses also tell me the uses of java c c++ and vb
which should i learn first to be a programmer so that i can create any software can they be helpful to create os.....thx a lot for reply

Hello- I am learning Python- and ran into a bit of code that didn t make sense to my non-Python enlightened mind.

>>> def fib(n): # write Fibonacci series up to n
... """Print a Fibonacci series up to n."""
... a- b = 0- 1
... while b < n:
... print b-
... a- b = b- a+b

My issue is with the assignment statement within the while loop. Will both b and a+b be evaluated before any assignment is made? I ve tried thinking about the code as
a = b
b = a + b
and as
b = a + b
a = b

Both of those would create flawed algorithms- so am I correct in assuming that the assignments are not made until ALL of the expressions are evaluated?

I want to get another snake but am not sure what- i like the brazilian rainbow boas and the sumatran red blood python. I ve been doing some research into both species but still i can t make up my mind. Which one do you think? Can you tell me also you re experience with the species. This will help me loads with my decision.
I ve got loads of experience with snakes - pythons- boas- king snakes- corn snakes and milk snakes.

We do have a serious mouse problem at our house atm. Would the constant smell of wild mice be putting her off her frozen ones? If so- what can I do about this? She looks healthy and is no less or no more active than usual. She has just shed as normal and is still herself apart from not wanting her food. Please Help me- with many thanks- Lauren.

she is only handled maybe once a week i have another childrens that is fully grown and a carpet both of them have grown fine and are happy she has only been in one other enclosure that i thought was way to big so i put her in a smaller one could the large enclosure have been the problem

she eats fine once a week maybe less apart from now being winter she is 1year old has only shed i think 4 times she is maybe 30cm long at the most any answers would be great thank u

I just recently got my first ball python and the book I have says nothing about this but I believe she pooped or maybe it was urine and it looks white but it has green gooey stuff on it. Is this normal?

kk- people... i have wanted a pet for ages and have read up and am certain i can take care of any of these animal... Eclectus parrot- rainbow lorikeet- ferret- rats- blue tongued lizard- bearded dragon- carpet python... they are all so promising and fun and awsome and i love them all...but i can t decide plz tell me ur prefernces and why- good or bad experinces with either

I m not sure if i want to do this or not yet because I have a thing against myspace but I am considering it. what do you think. P.S I have 10 pets ranging from dogs- cats- ferrets- Tarantulas and a ball python
The pic is of both of my fur kids. if you can see (i know its a small pic) The silver blaze mitt is cuddling my 8 week old chocolate sable (she is 9 months now)
and thank you : D
I wouldn t use dogster or catster because my other pets wouldn t be included and I love them all dearly (except that damn weird pissing cat)(she is my mom s though)
So what I love them and wish to show them off

Well at about 1:00 in the morning i noticed my ball python cam out of his hide so i decided to watch him...hes only a 2 month old baby to let you know...he was climbing one of those plastic plants that have suction cups..when he was coming down he fell doewn about 8 inches and for substrate i have soft eco-earth coco-fiber...i think hes ok i handled him and checked him and he seemed active..should i worry about anything?
Thank you!

I have a ball python about 2 weeks old i NEED a name any suggestions all greatly appreciated

I have a ball python and he has a tendency to strike a LOT. He is about 8 months old and I got him from petco. When ever I pick up his house he gets into a striking position and when we put are arms or whatever near the glass cage he strikes.

I know its not good for him to strike and miss- and I want to hold and see him. So what are my posibilites?

We just bought a baby ball python(Monty) and we currently have 4 hermit crabs. We have a large octagonal 25"/25" tank and would love them to share the space. We have no problem housing them separately but it would definitely be more convenient.

My poor snake is sick!! [as I said before...]
she might be sick with respiratory infection (well im almost positive she is...)
she is my first pet snake and so I needed advice many times before about ball pythons

some people/sites say that the sickness is caused by low humidity
others say its poor temperature!!
and even some say its a bacterial infection!!!

im sooooooo confused!!! >.<

and also I searched how to improve her health if the infection is caught at an early stage and got even more different answers!!!! :

>take her to the vet IMMEDIATLY
>raise humidity; raise temperature
>lower humidity; raise temperature
>give the snake a bath twice a week and raise temperature
>mist the tank more often
>hold the snakes head up to help drain liquid in the lungs (???)

I dont know what to do...
T.T
I feel so hopeless and confused

could someone who actually KNOWSS what to do plz tell me!!
>.<
I think the safest route is the vet but idk if theres one in my area...
ohhh yeaa
I 4got to mention..
I started noticing the symptons last wednesday right after she ate
it cant be THAT serious yet could it?!?!

it hasnt even been a week yet...
speaking of temps.-
I totally forgot about the incident a couple days ago:
the heat lamp s bulb blew and the temperature dropped to like 70-77 degrees
then i got a new bulb and the wattage was way to high and it reached over a 100 degrees in there!!

I just got a bulb that provides the right temperature today hoping she would be fine

It has been totally taken from
the meaning of life (monty python)

He also hasn t eaten in almost a year. He is in perfect health- and weight. He also is acting perfectly normal. His colour is good a well. I do not see any signs of any kind of sickness either.

I have a baby ball python(2 months old) that i got yesterday from a reptile show...i have everything in the tank that im supposed to have and i have a small plastic container for a water bowl..it has a top with a hole cut in it so it can go in and it can feel secure..i think its called a water hide..my question is..will he find the water when hies thirsty?will he find it on his own?

I wrote a program in Python to calculate factorials.

e.g. 6! = 1 * 2 * 3 * 4 * 5 * 6

I want to ask it to calculate 1 million factorial (all the numbers up to 1million multiplied by each other). This will mean my laptop will be on for the next 2 or 3 days and the CPU will be constantly running at 100% load multiplying massive numbers.

Can I burn out my CPU doing this or is that what CPUs are designed for?

i got my bp 2 days ago and he hasn t used the bathroom- he hasn t eaten- and he has fallen a bunch of times(he was trying to get out of his cage and fell backwards.....lol) is this all normal?

Which gun has more stopping power:

The Colt Python or the Desert Eagle.

Please tell me- I don t know too much about guns.

i had an ball python witch i would feed once a week i just want my retic to grow at an fast rate

We have a ball python that we just bought two weeks ago. He ate fine last week (one regular size mouse that we bought from Petco). This week- we fed him a larger mouse that we had kept for breeding (but decided to stop breeding). This morning- we woke up and he had thrown it up. Should we be concerned about infection or did we just feed him too large of a mouse?

The python Swans (thanks romper i like that) have finally broken the top 4 club..
It CAN be done!!

To be quite honest I m just glad someones done it- I was getting very bored hearing the same Cats- Hawks- Dogs- Crows theories every week.. (obviously stoked its swans tho)

I reckon it opens up the 8 alittle more and gives the compitition more excitement..

Do you think the top 3can be penetrated b4 the seasons out?

I want a ball python but my step dad hates them. I thought if i cant have a snake i could have a roodent. But if i cant have rodents i want a lizard- gecko- salamander- or chameleon. I think i may get a bearded dragon. HHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When i handle my bal python- what would be some signs that my snake is stressed and it wants to go back into its cage?

I put the humidity gauge probe inside the warm hide(which is 95.0 degrees and the humidity reads 87% in the warm hide...if this is too much humidity in the warm hide..how can i reduce it..and the humidity in the whole tank is around 65-75%...
thank you

my 2 ball python are 2ft long are they ready to eat rat pup or small rat/

I have some I have never used and I would rather not use newspaper if its safe to use this stuff.....

I am a big fan of Monty Python but all I can ever seem to watch is chopped up episodes on YouTube. Does anyone know where and when I can watch episodes of "Flying Circus." I am a resident of Toronto.

Looking for a young- healthy- fairly well priced Ball Python.
Any breeders or websites or pet stores please type below
I live in the UK

I need to know if it can start a fire when I leave the light unatended

I mistakely ran over a snake a couple of days ago and now this is the second night I ve been having dreams about them. My first dream a with with light green pock a dotted snake with wings was flying low toward everyone while shrieking something serious. It felt so real my husband tried to tug my earlobes but at the same time that s when the snake was flying towards my head. I ended up with covers pulled over my head and my husband laughing his ass off. lol My second dream were one black snake with wings but crawling on the window- the second one was a python- and the 3rd one was a regular garden snake all in my house. I got my neighbor to help me get but one bite him on his thumb when he picked it up. I sprayed 2 of them with raid. It ended up burning the top of their heads like if it was acid. The last one with wings disapperared. What does this mean? Do I now have bad luck or something since I accidently ran over this snake? Help.:(

She is approxinmately 2 feet long- and is in shed- thus having touble seeing. I just got her today- and i left her in her snake bag on my bed for about an hour while i got some things together for her and when i went to put her in her tank- the bag was open and she was gone. I don t know HOW the hell she got outta her bag. I searched my room for the last hour and a half to no avail. ANY SUGGESTIONS AT ALL ARE WELCOME. I put out her new open tank filled with aspen bedding with a water dish in my room and stuck a heat lamp on it to attract her. I ve checked in my pillowcases- blankets... nothing. Under the bed- under EVERYTHING. Nothing. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I own this pistol I am trying to decide how much to sell my gun for. I have seen some on gun broker for alot- and they look terrible compared to mine. Mine has the full checkered gold logo wood grips with 98% Royal Blue finish. What is it worth and what is a realistic price to ask for it? Feel free to email me about it.
